How

the heck

did I even get here?

You might be wondering….

Born in Gainesville, FL - "Gator Country", Ben was the youngest of three. Ben was about 2, when his Mom, a single parent at the time, graduated from UF Law school and moved to the “Space Coast” - Cocoa Beach, FL, where she served as an assistant public defender and married his Dad.

Living smack dab on the beach for 12 years, Ben’s youth consisted of locating the rarest Pokemon cards (Nerd Alert) and the gnarliest waves.

It wasn't until Ben moved with his family to New England, when he was 14, that Ben traded his surfboard in for a skateboard. Soon discovering a new past-time: creative ways of terrifying his parents on 4-wheels.

It all came to a head when during a skateboarding competition Ben crashed into a concrete pylon traveling at about 30 mph. Ben broke three ribs, three vertebrae, and punctured a lung. Needless to say, Ben’s skateboarding career was probably over. But where one door closes another opens.

The doctor assigned to Ben’s case explained that the recovery would go well so long as Ben remained physically active in his daily life. Remaining active would help with the healing as well as stave off any depression. The doctor suggested that Ben find a new hobby that was mentally and physically rigorous but perhaps a little less high impact.“Like acting”, he suggested.

Ben thought the idea wasn’t half bad. The new school year was rapidly approaching and Ben would need to choose an elective. Ben chose, “Acting for Beginners”, auditioned for his first play, and never looked back.

Thoroughly infected with “the bug”, Ben took every opportunity to be involved in the theater. From acting in school and local productions, to creating an improv troupe, to teaching and directing middle schoolers for his senior project. Ben couldn’t get enough. Ultimately, Ben decided that when he graduated he would deepen his education and training by attending theater school.

Under the talented tutelage of the dedicated Drama faculty at The University of Connecticut, Ben earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting.

It was here that Ben would be afforded the opportunity to perform along side equity actors in professional productions and study Shakespeare abroad at the Theatre Academy of London. Most importantly, however, it is where Ben would discover his new passion; VOICE Acting.

As soon as Ben graduated he moved to NYC, BROOKLYN, where he lives today.

Over the years, Ben has been incredibly lucky to live in the city he loves while pursuing his passion; creative storytelling. Whether its Tabletop Roleplaying Games or VOICE Acting, Ben approaches every project with a commitment to artistic excellence and the transformative power of storytelling.

However, nobody could have prepared Ben for the transformation undergone following the greatest of all acts of creation. Ben became a father.

These days, if you don’t catch Ben performing silly voices in the sound booth then you better believe he’s performing them for his daughter, Iris What? It’s good practice and she’s a great audience!

THE END. Yeah, well, so what if it’s not a very good ending? It’s an “about” page. Besides, you get the idea, right? Father and Voice Artist with a heart of gold, simple.

“With Ben’s confident yet conversational, sensitive yet strong, mid to low range, young adult male voice with just a dash of smoke, you can be sure to cut through the noise, connect with your listener, and tell your story.”
